7Days is now a member of the Swiss Commercial Vehicle Association ASTAG. This step brings 7Days even closer to the pulse of the transport and logistics industry. The aim is to intensify the exchange with industry partners, gain an early insight into current developments and work together on innovative solutions.
One focus for 7Days is the electrification of the vehicle fleet and the further development of sustainable logistics concepts, particularly in urban areas. The high-performance night-time network, which enables efficient early deliveries, also makes a significant contribution to these goals.
ASTAG membership not only strengthens 7Days’ expertise, but also its voice in the political representation of interests. This sends out a clear signal: 7Days is positioning itself as future-proof, sustainable and innovative.
In the “STR” magazine no. 14 from 05.06.2025 of the Swiss Commercial Vehicle Association ASTAG, Mikaël Esteban, member of the management of 7Days and responsible for the logistical distribution of services, explains in an interview the reasons for joining, the expectations of membership as well as trends and future topics in the commercial vehicle and logistics industry. The following excerpt from the interview provides exciting insights:
What prompted you to become a member of ASTAG?
Mikaël Esteban: Membership of ASTAG allows us to actively participate in shaping the future of the transport and logistics sector as part of a strong community of industry experts and to gain access to industry information, expertise and trends in the commercial vehicle industry.
Membership not only strengthens our network within the industry, but also opens up strategic partnerships with innovative players — an essential prerequisite for jointly developing digital solutions and actively shaping sustainable transformation processes.
What do you expect from this accession?
Mikaël Esteban: We expect valuable input and practical insights that will help us to make our logistics processes more sustainable and efficient. At the same time, we see ASTAG as an important platform for professional exchange and the representation of interests at a political level.
Which topics or projects are of particular interest or importance to you in your collaboration with ASTAG?
Mikaël Esteban: Our focus is clearly on the further electrification of our fleet and the development of innovative logistics concepts for specific sectors. Sharing best practices and innovative technologies will help us to drive our plans forward in the long term and pursue our strategy in a targeted manner.
In your opinion, what are the trends and developments of the future for the commercial vehicle industry and how are you preparing for them?
Mikaël Esteban: The future of the commercial vehicle industry will be strongly influenced by alternative drive technologies, digitalization and sustainable logistics concepts. 7Days is already focusing on the electrification of its fleet and developing concepts for environmentally friendly GreenCity logistics in order to respond to these trends at an early stage. We are also increasingly using our high-performance night-time network to ensure efficient early deliveries — a decisive advantage in urban areas. We also incorporate regulatory developments — such as increasing urbanization, environmental zones or CO₂ requirements — into our planning at an early stage. Our aim is to be permanently resilient and future-proof through forward-looking action, flexible logistics solutions and the development of strong partnerships.
