HACCP certification (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is a systematic approach to ensuring food safety. This internationally recognized standard was developed to identify, assess and minimize risks in food production. The implementation of this system is not only a legal requirement, but also an essential measure to create trust among consumers, partners and authorities.
Maintaining a high quality of service and continuous improvement of the management system
As 7Days, we undergo various auditing processes at regular intervals in order to continuously improve our high quality of service and our management system. In 2017, we successfully achieved ISO 9001 certification and were able to improve process quality in the years that followed. Since mid-November 2023, 7Days has benefited from the internationally recognized certified environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 as well as HACCP certification within ISO 9001 in the area of food safety.
“The HACCP certification not only acts as a recognized seal of quality for safe food, but also represents our commitment to outstanding service standards. This is a firm commitment to ensuring consumer safety and guaranteeing continuous first-class quality in food logistics.”
Thomas Kirschner, Managing Director, 7Days
HACCP certification is based on the following principles, among others:
- Hazard analysis: Identification of all potential hazards in the production process that could affect food safety.
- Determination of critical control points (CCPs): Determining the crucial points in the production process at which hazards can be prevented, removed or reduced to an acceptable level.
- Corrective measures: Development of measures to be taken if monitoring at a CCP exceeds the specified limit.
- Verification: Periodic review and confirmation that the HACCP system is working effectively.
- Documentation and records: Maintain accurate records of all aspects of the HACCP system to demonstrate compliance and effectiveness.
HACCP certification indicates that a company complies with the highest standards in terms of product safety. By identifying and controlling potential hazards, HACCP procedures minimize the risk of food contamination and consequently health risks for the consumer. Focusing on critical points in the production process leads to more efficient workflows and reduces waste.
HACCP certification is therefore not only a seal of quality, but also a strategic investment in the safety, reputation and competitiveness of a company in the food industry.
